Timothy G. Schafer
Timothy G. Schafer, who is still fully engaged in an active trial practice, has 49 years of judge, jury, and appellate court experience in the representation of individuals, insurance companies, and corporations in a variety of cases. Mr. Schafer relies on statistics to describe his experience. He has tried 141 jury trials to verdict (the figure does not include 16 cases settled during trial), argued before the courts of appeal in over 116 cases of which 104 are published decisions, and tried over 250 bench trials. His adversaries describe him as a formidable but professional advocate.
His peers recognized his accomplishments by electing him 2009 President of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation only organization of respected trial lawyers. He also has been recognized by Super Lawyers and by Martindale Hubbell’s AV rating.
